Now is the time to start claiming your FamilyBoost payments on MyIR. Claims for the quarter 1 July 2024 to 30 September 2024 can be lodged from 1 October 2024.
FamilyBoost is a childcare payment to help eligible households pay for the cost of early childhood education (ECE). Eligible parents and caregivers will be able to claim up to 25% of their weekly childcare fees, or a maximum of $975 every 3 months.
Childcare fees can include optional charges and services, but they do not include donations. Claims for FamilyBoost are for the household, not for each individual child.
Who can get FamilyBoost
You may be able to receive FamilyBoost if you:
are the caregiver of a child or children aged 5 and under
have a household income of less than $180,000 a year
have costs from a licensed early childhood education (ECE) provider
are a tax resident of New Zealand.
Claiming FamilyBoost
If you are eligible for FamilyBoost, start saving copies of your childcare invoices from 1 July 2024.
We recommend managing this yourself. However, we can be added as a nominated person for your FamilyBoost and lodge this on your behalf. Please contact Debbie at debbie@evansaccountants.co.nz if you would like our assistance with this.
