The Evans & Co Team

Our guiding philosophy at Evans & Co is to empower our clients to achieve financial freedom.

With a combination of expert knowledge and services that cater to individual needs, we aim to leave people with more freedom of choice and an all round better lifestyle. We trust that our clients know best how to run their business, so we’re here to support and equip them in that journey.

As part of this philosophy, we’re passionate about building genuine relationships with our people. When you come to us, we want to know what’s really at the heart of your business, what makes it work and what you love about it. After all, if we don’t really understand what makes you and your business tick, how can we offer meaningful advice and effective services?

Jane Evans - Director (CA)

Jane's never been quite like other accountants, she is a creative thinker, never afraid to challenge herself and the coach and mentor in her likes to challenge those around her.

She is passionate about growing great businesses and the farm girl in her is passionate about the agricultural industry. Marie Evemy - Accountant

Marie comes to us with over 20 years of experience in the accounting industry.

"It’s really important for me to be surrounded by friendly people in the workplace, so naturally, my favourite part of working here is my workmates and all the laughs we have together. You hear about ‘boring accountants’, but I think we’re proof that accountants can be good at their job, help their clients, and still have a personality!  I also enjoy solving puzzles, and I find that sometimes reconciling accounts and helping clients with their Xero balancing issues can be a lot like solving a puzzle. Once you have all the pieces together, you can definitely make it work."

When she's not crunching numbers, you'll find Marie tiki touring around NZ, spending time with her husband and their teenage children, and enjoying a cheeky cider or two!

Rose Drayson - Accountant

I’ve been working in accounting practice for nearly 20 years where I started out as a junior while studying and raising my young family.

Over this time, I have been challenged with a wide range of tasks & responsibilities which have all contributed to the accountant I am today.  These range from GST, payroll, management accounting, compliance accounting, client relations…I’m aging fast, so the list just goes on!

My title at Evans & Co is senior accountant and the role is varied, however, I feel you create your own role in a way.  Experience, personality, strengths and growth within the position shape it into your own unique role.  I enjoy crunching numbers and helping clients and colleagues whenever I can.

The best part of my job is the awesome people I work with and the amazing client relationships I have built over the years.  I love sharing the highs (and lows) with clients and it’s a big deal to me to receive an email with a picture of their new home, new baby, or new business venture.

Having clients, some I only know by voice, confide in me and feel comfortable enough to share struggles they may be experiencing is a huge privilege and I love building these relationships.  This part of my job is such a privilege!

I’m pretty active (code word…can’t sit still!) so home time is usually with my family, running, creating cakes or cranking the music while I clean!

Kate Silich - Bookkeeper

What do you enjoy doing with your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my family & friends and our two dogs.  I also run our air b&b’s which can be challenging at times but it keeps me busy.

What is your favourite part of your job?
I enjoy our team and the support we offer each other, and that we are like-minded people. It also helps that we can all share a good laugh together.

Jessie Lynch - Accountant

Since joining Evans & Co as a senior accountant in March 2024 I have really enjoyed getting to know my colleagues and clients. Working with a variety of businesses has been a great experience, but I’m especially drawn to the farming sector—it's both challenging and interesting for me.

When I’m not busy in the office, you can usually find me outdoors with my family, hiking, biking, or just soaking up nature.

Kim Fredrickson - Bookkeeper/Payroll

Kim has a diverse background in accounting, administration, legal support, and dairy farming, she brings a broad range of skills and knowledge to our firm.

In her role, Kim assists the director with daily operations and supports our clients with their bookkeeping, GST, payroll and other accounting and administrative tasks. Her experience as a former dairy farmer allows her to relate well to our farming clients, giving her a unique perspective on their needs and challenges.

Kim truly enjoys being part of our collaborative team at Evans & Co., where a supportive atmosphere and a bit of laughter make the workday enjoyable.

She loves spending time outdoors with her family and cheering them on at various sporting events. A passionate sports fan, Kim also coaches netball, supports the junior lacrosse program, and plays goalie for the Hautapu Sports Women’s Hockey team.

In her downtime, Kim enjoys listening to country music and is eager to share her love for the genre with the team—who knows, they might just get hooked too!
